Mafikizolo ZIM Show Cancelled over South Africa’s Anti-Immigrant Vigilante Movement Protests

Mafikizolo, the Afro Pop band who were billed to perform at the Buddie Beatz Concert in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, had their show cancelled after a widespread media outcry over the xenophobic vigilante movements that threatened a nationwide South Africa shutdown on 30 June 2026. We ask whether this move was necessary and how do you think things will eventually pan out for our music industry in terms of their hope and aspirations on the African Continent.
